They are maybe five percent of people. The rest of us are not colder, or busier, or worse at caring. We just lose the thread somewhere between meaning to and finding a card, a pen, a stamp and a post box, and by the time we get there the moment has moved on.
The Written Hug exists to close that gap. You do the part only you can do, which is deciding what to say. We do the rest.
Where it started
The Written Hug is a small independent studio founded by Tiffany Jaleh. It began with a stubborn observation: the cards people keep are never the expensive ones. They are the ones that arrived at the right moment, from someone who bothered.
The barrier was never the sentiment. People know exactly what they want to say to their mother, to the friend having a hard year, to the colleague who quietly covered for them. What stops them is logistics. So Tiffany built the version where the logistics disappear and the only thing you have to bring is the thing you meant.
Every design in the shop is original and made in house, from the quiet letterpress inspired classics to the loud, confetti bright celebration cards. We are not a marketplace reselling other people's art. When you send a Written Hug, you are sending something that exists nowhere else.
How it actually works
You choose a design and write your message. If the words are not coming, our AI will draft one from whatever you tell us about the moment, and then every word is yours to change. We write it onto the card with a real pen in real ink, in a handwriting style you pick, put a stamp on it, and post it. In the post within 1 to 3 business days, then 2 to 5 more with USPS. $9 flat, shipping always included, whether you send a card or a full letter.
Honesty about the ink
Your message goes onto the card with a real pen, held by a precision writing machine, in a natural handwriting style. It is not a printed font, and it is not a scanned image of someone's writing. We tell you this plainly because trust is the whole product. Real pen, real ink, real pressure on real card stock, and a real stamp.
Your words are yours
Your message and your recipient's address are used for exactly one thing: making and mailing your card. We do not sell them, mine them, or add your recipient to any list. Read the full privacy policy if you want the details.
