Our Story

A real card. Your words. Their mailbox.

Why The Written Hug exists

The Written Hug started with a small frustration that would not go away. Texts disappear. Email gets archived. But a real card, with real handwriting, gets kept. It sits on a shelf or a fridge for months because someone took the time to send something you can hold.

The problem is the time. Finding a card, finding a pen, finding a stamp, finding the post office. Most of us mean to send the card and never do. So we built the version where you only do the part that matters: the words. You choose a design, write your message (or start from one of ours and make it yours), and we handle everything else, the ink, the envelope, the stamp, the mailbox.

Who is behind it

The Written Hug is a small independent studio founded by Tiffany Jaleh. Every card design is original and created in house, from our quiet, warm, letterpress inspired classics to our loud and playful celebration cards. We are not a marketplace reselling other people's designs. When you send a Written Hug, you are sending something that exists nowhere else.

Honesty about the handwriting

Your message is written with a real pen and real ink by precision writing machines, in a natural handwriting style. It is not a printed font and not a scanned image of handwriting. We are telling you exactly how it works because trust is the whole product. The result is a card that looks and feels hand written, because in every physical sense it is: real pen, real ink, real pressure on real card stock.

Your words are safe with us

Your message and your recipient's address are used for exactly one thing: producing and mailing your card. We do not sell them, mine them, or add your recipient to any list. Read the full privacy policy if you want the details.
