How It Works
Three steps. About two minutes of your time. A real card in their mailbox.
1. Choose a card
Browse by occasion or collection. Every design is original to The Written Hug, printed on premium folded card stock. Want help with the words? Our Ready to Send cards come with a thoughtful message already written, and you can keep it, edit a line, or rewrite the whole thing.
2. Write your message
Type your message right on the product page, up to 500 characters, and pick the handwriting style you like best. Sign with your name, or send it anonymously and we sign it "A friend who cares." Whatever you type is what gets written, word for word, so give it one proofread before checkout.
Where your message goes
Every card is a folded 5x7 greeting card. The front is the design you chose. Open it, and your message is handwritten on the inside in real ink, exactly as you typed it. The inside-left stays clean. You also get a digital copy of your card and message to keep.
3. We write it, stamp it, and mail it
Your message is written with a real pen in real ink by precision writing machines, in a natural handwriting style, not a printed font. The card is sealed in a hand stamped envelope and handed to the postal service, usually within one business day.
Where does the address go?
At checkout, enter your recipient's name and mailing address as the shipping address. The card mails straight to them. Want to deliver it yourself? Use your own address instead.
Delivery timing
US delivery usually takes 2 to 5 business days after production. Canada and international take longer. Cards travel as real letters with real stamps, so there is no tracking number, just a real envelope showing up the way mail used to.
Our promise
Shipping is included in every price. If we misprint or damage your card, we reprint and remail it free. If it never arrives, contact us and we will reprint and remail it once at no cost. Your message and recipient address are used only to produce and mail your card, never for anything else.
